Last week's "Target Practice" results!

Question: What does it mean to be under the new covenant?

Targets and results:

A. Under grace - 1 hit
B. A citizen of the kingdom who obeys from the heart - 7 hits
C. Under the influence of The Spirit of The Holy One - 4 hits
D. All of the above - 71 hits

Bull's-eyes: D. All of the above
  • Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.(KJV)

Everyone enters the covenant by grace. Grace is the gift by which reconciliation is achieved and appropriated by the faith of the recipient.

A citizen of the kingdom will obey from the heart:

  • Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)
  • Romans 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: (KJV)

Those under the renewed covenant will be under the influence of The Spirit of The Holy One

  • Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. (KJV)
  • Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. (KJV)

  1. Hey, great poll... and great way to communicate the right answer!

I love the following first, because it is a prophetic picture of 10-Israel (in the nations) taking hold of Yeshua's tzit tzits (IMO):

    Zechariah 8:22-23
    (22) ‘And many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek YHVH of hosts in Yerushalayim, and to pray before YHVH.’
    (23) “Thus said YHVH of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all languages of the nations take hold, yea, they shall take hold of the edge of the garment of a man, a Yehudite, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that Elohim is with you.” ’ ”

  2. Hello:
It is interesting to note that the Bereans could still not keep the Thessalonian Jews from turning even their city upside down.

Even more interesting is that in 2 Thessalonians 2:5, Shaul says: "Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?"

Who was he also with but the Thessalonians of Thessalonica in chapter 17 to whom he came, as was his habit to go into every synagogue of every city. And where but Berea did he go next. And so what is the point here? Here it comes, Even with being Berean, there was no rapture from trouble by the unbelieving ignorant "beast." Who is the "beast" but the unbelieving unlearned Jew and the unbelieving unlearned gentile who thinks he or she is "learned". Prove it? John 6:66 has former disciples "unbelieving" and offended by Y'shuah's words "and they walked with Him no more." Did they forget "Blessed is He who is not offended in me?" What things would Shaul be reminding Thessalonians and because of proximity, maybe Bereans of in 2 Thess 2 but that which transpired in Acts 17. Want a preview of 2 Thess 2 to be better ready, read Acts 17 relative to 2 Thess 2, you wonderfully blessed Bereans and STAND!

Let me be specific: "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

    Why is this an issue in a comment about Bereans? Let's ask Peter: "And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things;
    in which are some things

hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

We may think we are Berean and proclaim it loudly, but we'd better check again, look it up again, review it again, study it again, eat it again even for the sweetness in our mouths and the bitterness that it will bring to our stomach's... again!

  3. Should not a man under a new covenant obey the Apostle Paul's instruction concerning headcover, i.e a man should nt cover his head while praying? “Every man who prayeth or prophesieth, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head. (...) For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, inasmuch as he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.” (1 Cor 11: 4, 7)

  4. Should not a man under new covenant follow the Apostle Paul's instruction concerning the question of headcovering? “Every man who prayeth or prophesieth, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head. (...) For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, inasmuch as he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.” (1 Cor 11:4, 7). As I understand it, a man should not cover his head while praying.

    Kind regards,
    Aleksndar

  5. So true!
    per TDF -
    C. What we believe in our heart

"Judgment came upon both the earth and Egypt due to their works which corresponded to the condition of their heart! The believer, will also be judged by what he believes in his heart. Yeshua teaches that every word and action comes from out of the heart."

The question is Why, oh Why do so many "Pure Torah" keepers lift the CHARACTER/"name" of Yahweh up FALSELY by presenting Him before the world as the DEMON of "eternal punishment"(annihilation included)!

"Clearly death is a result of sin. Because of the fall of Adam, all men are destined to die. Regardless of what Messiah did on the cross, we shall all taste this death of our fallen nature. However, scripture speaks also of a second death as well as eternal life. It is Messiah Yeshua, who saves us from the second death (an eternal judgment of death). Yeshua is the means by which we may obtain eternal life."

Yahweh is Faithful to His creation - the very works of His hands, which we ALL are!

The definition of the Greek "aion/aionois" and Hebrew "olam" has been TWISTED beyond comprehension turning the Grace of the Faithful Creator of Mankind into doctrines of DEMONS!

My El is Yahweh the Faithful Creator of ALL Mankind! Who is your god? If Yahweh, then proclaim His FAITHFULNESS to the ends of the earth! If the DEMONS of "eternal" punishment, then continue bending you knees to the alters of Baal to your open SHAME!

Regarding His HEARTS desire for Egypt:

Isa_19:22 NASB The LORD will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the LORD, and He will respond to them and will heal them.

Of course you "Pure Torah" keepers must know that Yahweh will strike ALL "in Adam" and likewise HEAL ALL "in Messiah"!

22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
23 But each in his own order...1 Cor 15:22-23 NASB

Rev_20:6 NASB Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years. NASB

Rom_6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

NOW, is the TIME for SALVATION (deliverance from THIS PRESENT WICKED AGE!!!) Not later, in some sweet "bye-n-bye"!

10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

Who are you "Pure Torah" keepers waiting expectantly to see "Nuked", as STRANGE FIRE ascends from the depravity of your HEARTS to your Baal?

I speak PEACE to Damascus! I speak PEACE to ALL to are near, and to ALL who are FAR! You have "lost your way" (wicked), and MUST return to the CORRECT PATH of "righteousness"!

What happened to your testimony that Yehoshua Messiah is indeed the Savior of the WORLD? Why have you not maintained such a wonderful testimony?

9 It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance.
10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.
11 Prescribe and teach these things.

Why, oh Why do you not prescribe and TEACH "these things"?

    Romans 5:18-19 NASB
18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.
19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.

A PERFECT Creator; therefore, by definition a PERFECT plan! Stop doubting and BELIEVE!

Deu_32:4 "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

  6. "Like Moses, we too must provide the heart for him to write his very "laws" (character) on. He will not force his character on someone who is not willing to bring their heart of stone in order to make it a heart of flesh!"

Why continue to preach some sort of neo-Calvinist doctrine that PROFANES the CHARACTER - "name" - of the Faithful Creator of Mankind! Don't you guys understand that when He REVEALS Himself to Mankind that Mankind will see for themselves that He is indeed WHOLLY DESIRABLE - there will be NO foolish thought of "rejecting" Him!

(Ca 5:16) 16 His words are sweetness itself; he is altogether desirable. This is my darling, and this is my friend, daughters of Yerushalayim. - CJB

You many indeed REJECT the Faithful Creator of Humanity NOW, but, you too shall see that He is "altogether desirable" when He REVEALS Himself to you at your appointed time!

32 "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."

"...not willing to bring their heart of stone..." Why are you still not willing?
Why do "threaten" Humanity with the "non-god" of your imagination ("therm o-nuclear destruction" of Damascus, etc.)instead of fulfilling the PURPOSE of "Israel" to draw all mankind to Yahweh (the only EXISTING ONE)
    with the LOVE of Messiah?

    Praise Yah!
